Dr. Caroline Zeind


Boston, Mass. –  MCPHS University announced this week that, following completion of a national search that drew some 50 applications, Dr. Caroline Zeind has been appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs/Provost. As the university’s chief academic officer, Dr. Zeind will oversee 10 schools and colleges, serving more than 7,000 students on its three campuses in Boston, Worcester, and Manchester, N.H., in addition to its extensive online programs.

Dr. Zeind completed BA and PharmD degrees at the University of Tennessee before joining MCPHS in 1995, where she rose to the rank of Professor in 2007. She has served on the faculty of the School of Pharmacy and held leadership positions ranging from Chairman of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, Associate Provost, Chief Academic Officer for the Worcester and Manchester campuses, and, since November 2017, Interim Provost.
 
Prior to MCPHS, Dr. Zeind worked as a clinical pharmacist at Tufts Medical Center while also training pharmacy residents and students on rotations. Her published scholarship includes a textbook, "Applied Therapeutics: The Clinical Use of Drugs," 11th edition, for which she served as co-editor-in-chief, and numerous publications in healthcare practices, curriculum reform in health sciences, and the scholarship of teaching. Dr. Zeind has also won the University's highest award for teaching excellence, and has been recognized for faculty leadership and research/scholarship.
